CIMRO of Nebraska is working with nursing homes in Nebraska to improve the quality of life and care for Nebraska’s nursing home residents in the following three areas:

• Improving clinical performance and care processes
• Setting improvement targets
• Transforming organizational culture

The Nursing Home Quality Initiative focuses on decreasing the rate of pressure ulcers among high-risk individuals, decreasing the use of physical restraints, improving the management of depressive symptoms and improving the management of pain in long-stay residents. CIMRO of Nebraska assists nursing homes to improve their care delivery systems and to increase the use of guidelines in the care processes for residents.

CIMRO of Nebraska is also working with Nebraska nursing homes to change organizational culture practices as a means to support a more consumer-directed approach to care. This new environment will lead to improvements in resident and staff satisfaction, decreased staff turnover rates and improved clinical outcomes.
