CIMRO of Nebraska recently began implementation of the new Medicare Quality
Improvement Organization Program. This effort is closely aligned with the
National Quality Strategy. Simply put, its goals are: 1) better care 2) better
health and 3) affordable care.
As an independent, objective and trusted partner, we plan to work closely
with identified healthcare providers to implement evidence-based models of care.
Technical assistance, educational sessions, tools and resources will be
offered. Our efforts will be closely aligned with other national health
initiatives, such as:
- Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Homes Campaign
- Partnership for Patients
- Patient Safety and Clinical Pharmacy Collaborative
- Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Program
Learning and Action Networks
New to this Medicare QIO Program contract, is the implementation of
Learning and Action Networks (LANs). LANs engage leaders around an action based
agenda. Such a network creates opportunities for in-depth learning and
problem solving, it accepts all offers of support seeking to catalyze interested
parties and is transparent, flexible, interchangeable and purposeful. LANs help
ensure collaboration and reduce duplication of efforts.
LANs create an opportunity for communities, with assistance and guidance from
CIMRO of Nebraska, to harness the knowledge, skills and abilities of community
partners to reach a critical mass around a common aim or improvement goal.
